Jim Barnes • Deputy Director of Operations, Village of Wellington

Jim Barnes joined the staff at the Village of Wellington first as Assistant Director of Community Services, has served as Deputy Director of Environmental and Engineering Services, also served as Parks and Recreation Director, and was appointed to his current post in March of 2008. Prior to joining Wellington, Mr. Barnes was employed by Palm Beach County in the Facilities Development & Operations Department. In his ten-year tenure there he was involved in all aspects of facilities planning, design and construction. Jim has also worked in the field of community planning and has experience in the public and private sector. His planning experience includes the preparation of local government comprehensive plans and the planning and design of master planned communities. Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and is a certified planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners.
