The Florida State Fair Authority, located in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Manager for our Agribusiness department, the heart of the fair.  Ideal candidate must be a strong leader and possess outstanding communication skills. In addition, this position is required to create, develop, plan, and implement programming, policy, and procedure.  Three to five years’ experience in agriculture related field and management is required.  Volunteer management experience a plus. 

Due to the size of the department budget the ideal candidate must have sound financial skills for budgeting, analyzing, and evaluating projects and programming.  Prior experience securing sponsorship and/or fundraising a plus.

To be considered, must be familiar with all species of production livestock prevalent in Florida.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Development, coordination, and oversight of all programming related to agriculture for the Florida State Fair and AgVenture including skillathons, annual calf sale and consumer protection program.

Coordination and oversight of Animal Care and Ethics workshops throughout the state throughout the year.

Development of new marketing strategies to secure and expand funding and sponsorship of the Champion of Champions program.

Liaison between the Florida State Fair Authority and various agriculture groups, community groups and fair industry groups.

Oversight of the day to day operations of the Agribusiness department.

Must be available to work varying schedule including some nights and weekends.
