Assist with the permitting, scheduling and coordination of City services and onsite liaison responsibilities for events in the Lake Pavilion.  Coordinate monthly events including Screen on the Green and assists with 4th on Flagler and Clematis by Night.  This position includes nights, weekends and holidays on a regular basis.


$18.68 Hourly (Pay Grade 47) Excellent Benefits!


Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in recreation, Leisure Management or a related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.  A valid Florida driver's license is required.  A valid driver's license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized upon application; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver's license within 30 days from day of appointment.

Alternate Requirements:  High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience in event management.  A valid Florida driver's license is required.

Job Title: Grants Specialist (Position #: 9010)

Days/Hours:    Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 6p.m.  Evening and weekends as needed.

Education and Experience: 

  • B.A. or B.S. preferred in a field such as English, Communications or Marketing.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in grant research and writing including government, federal and foundation grants.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.  Proof of automobile liability insurance.
  • Safe driving record

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

Brief Job Description:

  • Responsible for securing and managing agency’s annual grant revenue budget, approximately $2.9 million.
  • Identify, apply for and coordinate the administration of federal, state, local, foundation and corporate grants in accordance to applicable standards, regulations and guidelines.
  • Meets grant and proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates, for information-gathering, document preparation, document review and approval.
  • Ensures that statistics utilized for funding requests are accurate & up-to-date.
  • Assists the Program Compliance Specialist to ensure that grant contracts are executed, per deadlines.
  • Participates in prospective funder, community partner and internal grants meetings.
  • Submits applicable progress reports on status of grants and outcome achievements to designated staff and funders.
  • Ensures the development of new strategies to leverage and secure new resources from private, non-profit and government sources in support of established goals and objectives set forth in the annual Revenue Plan.
  • Initiates and develops relationships with prospective funders; maintains strong relationships with funding sources.
  • Maintains working knowledge on current fundraising practices in the non-profit/domestic violence sector through reading, participating in seminars and other educational opportunities, and professional contacts/memberships in the field.
  • Works closely with Finance Dept. in creating appropriate grant budgets.

  • Must be reliable, flexible, and have the ability to work in partnership with other team members.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,)
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations pertaining to funding contracts and grants.
