Leslie Waters, Major of the City of Seminole


Leslie Waters worked at Allstate Insurance Company in Human Resources and Government Relations for 29 years, before being elected to The Florida Legislature in 1998. She rose to the top of The Florida House of Representatives leadership, serving as Speaker Pro-Tempore her last term in office.

Currently Leslie Waters is Mayor of the City of Seminole in Pinellas County. She is a member of the Pinellas County Mayor’s Council, the Florida League of Mayors, and the Florida League of Cities. She serves on the Pinellas County Farm Bureau Board, PEMHS Mental Health Board, and is a member of the  Pinellas County Urban League Guild, and VFW-A. Mayor Waters is an Adjunct Political Science Professor at Eckerd College.

She manages Leslie Waters Government Relations firm, and is an International Democracy Consultant, having worked with elected Members of Parliament, political parties, candidates for office, and community advocates, in Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan, Southern Sudan, Somaliland and other evolving democracies since 2004.
