What does your company do? ANF has over 100 newspapers ready and waiting for your festival’s advertisement.  We’re cost effective, we’re fast, and we love hearing our clients’ success stories!

What makes your company stand out from your competition? We don’t have a lot of competition, just great relationships with all of the newspapers!

First Paying Job: Telemarketer (I am sooo sorry if you received one of my calls during dinner.  16 year olds don’t really understand the concept of “annoying”)

First Break into your business: I got a job right out of college with Conde Nast in New York City.  Newspapers don’t have as many fancy parties as Conde Nast magazines, but I sure like newspaper people more!

Best Book You Have Read: Elegance of the Hedgehog.  A witty, funny, heartbreaking novel that I could read 500 times and never grow weary of.

Best Advice you have ever received: Will it matter in 5 years?  If no, don’t worry about it.

Birthday: 10/3/1984

Spouse / Children: I just got married on 4/13/13 on Anna Maria Island to my wonderful husband Thomas (which is why Porter is now tacked onto my name J)

Pets:  Mardi is my cat from New York, and she definitely has the attitude to back it up.  Thomas has 2 cats, Milo & Milo, so now we’ve got 3 kitties who bicker like real sisters.

College/Education: Loyola University New Orleans—if you’ve ever been to New Orleans, you’ll understand why only a job in New York could tear me away.

Favorite Sports Team(s): Orlando Magic always hold a special place in my heart, but since Tom Glavin retired from the Mets, I haven’t had a favorite baseball team.

What is one of your favorite quotes? Stressed is Dessert spelled backwards.  I don’t know who said it, but I say it to myself about 5 times a day.

Why did you join FFEA / What is the best benefit of being an FFEA Member? We joined to better understand festivals and events so that we can help attendance grow.   The best benefit is FFEA allows us to give 20% discounts to its members!

What is the single most important piece of advice you would give to someone in the event industry? Advertise!
