26th Annual Battle at Narcoossee Mill

Crowds keep coming for Entertainment, Great Fun and Living History

March 23rd & 24th, 2019 marks the 26th Annual Battle at Narcoossee Mill Civil War battle enactment.Everyone is invited to step back in time to 1864 to shop the wares of period merchants known as “sutlers”, visit authentic military camps, listen to live performances of music authentic to the War Between the States era, watch living history portrayals and other activities before enjoying the superb grandstand view of the battle. New activities specifically designed for children are planned.

The Battle at Narcoossee Mill is regarded by spectators and re-enactors alike as one of the most enjoyable and spectator-friendly battle reenactments. While there, you will want to purchase some of Jacob Summerlin’s famous pulled pork sandwiches that are smoked on site and other great fare.Proceeds from admission and BBQ sales help support the numerous civic and charitable activities of the Jacob Summerlin Camp some of which you will find listed in the battle program.

Returning this year will be 7 lbs of Bacon. This homespun music trio will perform multiple times throughout the weekend, and provide commentary and information for spectators during both the Saturday and Sunday battles. “7 lb’s” will have the crowd dancing with period music at the annual re enactors Ball Saturday night. Playing together for over 18 years the musician have mastered the craft and genera of War Between the States musical entertainment. 7 lbs. of Bacon can be found on Facebook as 7 LBS. of Bacon Mess Band.

Parking is FREE. Admission is $8 per adult, $5 per child 5-11 years of age, under 5 is free. Credit and Debit cards are accepted. The battle commences around 2:00 both Saturday and Sunday, but please come any time after 9:30am to see and enjoy all that this annual event has to offer. Be sure to bring your valid military ID for a discounted admission.

Located at: The beautiful Ralph V. Chisholm Park on the eastern shores of East Lake Tohopekaliga at 4700 Chisholm Park Trail 34771, just off Narcoossee Road (SR-15) between US-192 and SR-417.

Through the generous support of the City of St. Cloud and Osceola County, the nonprofit Jacob Summerlin Camp, SCV 1516 has been bringing this great annual event to Chisholm Park for all of the battle’s 25 years, including the Friday Education Day events for school children.
