Northwest Florida Advanced Citizen Corps Academy

The Northwest Florida Advanced Citizen Corps Academy is a one-and-a-half-day training conference centered around readiness, response, and recovery efforts in relation to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, storms, and disasters of all kinds.

This program will provide attendees with well-rounded and robust training consisting of seminars and hands-on exercises relating to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS), medical triage, first aid, counterterrorism, pet preparedness, fire safety, and more.

We have numerous instructors from across Northwest Florida that will be presenting including but not limited to:

  • Escambia County Search and Rescue
  • Escambia County Emergency Management
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
  • The Humane Society

COVID -19 Guidelines

The Academy will follow CDC guidelines and protocols which include maintaining social distance in each training room, issuing masks, and providing personal size hand sanitizer to every participant. BRACE will have staff on-site sanitizing regularly.

Schedule

Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Sunday, April 25, 2021, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

ZOOM

For those who cannot attend the academy in person, we will have classes available via Zoom.

Hotel Accommodations

Paid hotel accommodations at Holiday Inn can be provided for those traveling 50 miles or further for the first 15 people who inquire to our Citizen Corps Coordinator, Bailey Caulfield.
