Board Interest Form

Board members represent FFEA and are responsible for reflecting the views and interests of our members throughout the state of Florida and are essential and important volunteers. They also provide leadership, a shared vision and sense of mission and are responsible for the fiscal health or FFEA.

A commitment to serve on the Board carries with it certain expectations, both formal and informal. FFEA’s commitment is to make your Board service rewarding and enjoyable and to help you utilize your special skills and talents on our behalf.

Service Requirements


A minimum of two years of active engagement with FFEA prior to nomination.

Must be willing to commit the time and expense of attending meetings.
Meetings of the Board of Directors are currently held by conference call on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at 10:30am. Two in-person meetings are held annually, once during the Convention and once for a Strategic Planning Session typically in the Spring.

Board members must attend at least 50% of all regularly scheduled Board Meetings annually or they will be automatically removed from the Board.

Must use your best efforts to regularly participate in FFEA events, program and activities when possible.

Members of the Board of Directors shall be elected to a term of two years. Board members may serve multiple consecutive terms upon reappointment by the Board of Directors up to a maximum of 3 terms. Reappointment is not automatic, and the Board may decline to reappoint a member for multiple terms. The term shall commence and end at the Annual Meeting of the membership.

Any FFEA member, in good standing, may be nominated to serve on the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors is comprised of a minimum of ten (10) and a maximum of twenty (20) voting members, inclusive of the officers. The composition of the Board of Directors is comprised of a mix of festival/event planners and vendor/suppliers that is the equivalent to the current mix of membership.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee will prepare a slate of nominees to fill any vacancies on the Board of Directors. The slate will be presented for vote prior to the beginning of the Annual Convention.

Individuals interested in serving on the Board should complete the form below. Nominations will be accepted year-round for any open positions, however most nominations are reviewed in the summer prior to the Annual Conference.
