Safety Plan

We are committed to maintaining all appropriate sanitary, health, and safety measures and encourage attendees to follow guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.

As we move ahead with planning and implementing the programming, we will continue to place high importance on facilitating measures that will ensure optimal health and sanitary conditions for everyone onsite during the event. In order to remain informed about the ongoing situation at both the global and local levels, we are in constant communication with our partner the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point.

Guided by their purpose of care and experience delivering world-class hospitality for more than 60 years, Hyatt’s Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment further enhances existing operational guidance and resources around colleague and guest safety and peace of mind. This multilayered commitment will build on Hyatt's existing rigorous protocols and include an accreditation process by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) at all Hyatt hotels around the world, colleague training and support resources, and a cross-functional working group of medical experts and industry professionals that will contribute to various aspects of the hotel experience. At the local level, we are working directly with Hyatt and will have the following in place:

  • All Food and Beverage will be pre-packaged or served cafeteria style by the hotel staff with plexiglass partition in between. Hotel staff will wear masks and gloves at all times.
  • Seating for classroom and rounds that allows for social distancing during all functions (3 seats per 72” round table and 1 per 6’ classroom table)
  • Monitoring attendance in all meeting spaces to allow for distance between attendees. One-way entry and exit.
  • Hand sanitizer stations throughout all meeting space. All attendees will also receive their own hand sanitizer bottle upon arrival.
  • Extra disinfectant on all high touch areas.
  • Meeting spaces, tables and chairs cleaned between each session (30 minutes set aside between each session for cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Contactless hotel check-in with the Hyatt mobile app
  • Masks will be required for all attendees when not eating or drinking. Each attendee will receive 4 disposable masks and one reusable mask in their registration packet or they are free to wear their own. Additionally, the Hyatt requires masks to be worn at all times in public spaces.
  • Daily temperature checks of all employees and the same staff will work the event on both days to limit contact / exposure to additional employees
  • All attendees will be required to undergo temperature scanning daily prior to entering the meeting space
  • All attendees will be required to complete a pre-arrival questionnaire asking if they have tested positive or been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the 14 days prior to arrival
  • Each guestroom will be cleaned with CDC approved disinfectants with further guidance from our partners at EcoLab. For the safety of guests and colleagues, we will not be entering guest rooms at any time during your stay. Simply dial "0" for contactless room-delivery of any needs you may have.

FFEA continues to monitor the rapidly changing situation related to COVID-19 and understand that concerns for health, safety, and the impact on meeting attendance, among other issues, are affecting everyone. Due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the coronavirus, FFEA will not charge a cancellation fee if you decide to not attend in-person based on concerns around your health or travel, including after the original June 19 cancellation deadline.

In the event that you need to cancel or that FFEA has to cancel the event, you will be fully refunded unless you prefer to leave a credit on file towards your annual membership or to be used for the 2021 Convention & Tradeshow.

FFEA reserves the right to refuse entry to any attendee with a fever or who has been sick or in contact with anyone who has tested positive in the past 14 days. We ask that all attendees follow CDC Guidelines and stay home if you are sick.
